The Cascade Room
The Cascade Room
The Cascade Room has been part of Mount Pleasant’s nightlife since opening in 2007, long before the neighbourhood became a destination for cocktail bars. That longevity matters. The Cascade Room helped set the tone for what a neighbourhood bar could be, one that balances strong drinks, personality and approachability without chasing trends. The space carries a relaxed, transportive feel, with tropical touches, warm lighting and a sense of playful escapism that still feels grounded.
The drinks program centres on rum and classic tropical technique. Cocktails nod to tiki tradition but stay balanced and restrained. Daiquiris are crisp and clean, while Mai Tai–inspired builds favour structure over sweetness. House cocktails often layer citrus, spice and bitters with fresh fruit, creating drinks that feel refreshing rather than heavy. Several large-format options encourage sharing and suit groups settling in for the evening.
The room supports that social energy. Tables fill quickly, conversations overlap, and the bar stays lively without tipping into chaos. Beer and wine are available, but cocktails clearly lead the experience, reinforcing The Cascade Room’s identity as a place built around flavour and fun.
The Cascade Room works because it understands its role. It offers escape without irony and consistency without stagnation, remaining relevant by doing what it has always done well.
