Tobbi Cafe
Tobbi Cafe
The newest addition to the Koreatown coffee circuit, Tobbi Cafe (a portmanteau of “Toronto” and “Hobby”), is a vibrant explosion of creativity and K-trend culture. Opened in early 2025, it has quickly become a viral sensation by introducing the “Blind Box” concept to the traditional cafe format. The space is filled with adorable collectibles and designer toys like Labubu and Skull Panda, creating a playful, high-energy environment that sets it apart from the more somber specialty shops in the area.
Despite the whimsical theme, Tobbi takes its beverage program incredibly seriously. They specialize in Vietnamese “Phin” coffee: a traditional slow-drip method that results in a potent, full-bodied brew. Their “Ice Phin Coco” (made with almond milk and shaved coconut) and “Ice Phin Pink Salt” (a creamy, savory-sweet salted coffee) are standout examples of how the shop blends traditional techniques with modern, trendy flavor profiles. Another crowd favorite is the Tiramisu Matcha Latte, which uses ceremonial-grade matcha topped with a velvety tiramisu cold foam.
The experience at Tobbi is interactive. In the basement, collectors can purchase blind boxes or participate in a dedicated toy exchange program, while the main floor serves as a bright, cream-colored sanctuary for enjoying South Korean street food-inspired snacks, such as their popular garlic cream cheese buns. Tobbi represents the next generation of Koreatown: a place where hobby culture, social media-ready aesthetics, and high-quality international coffee intersect. It is more than a cafe; it’s a community destination for the curious and the creative.
