Tocador
Tocador feels bright, playful and deliberately casual, more coastal bar than cocktail temple. The Mount Pleasant space is compact and colourful, anchored by a bold mural, patterned walls and an easygoing layout that keeps the mood light from the moment you step inside. Daylight spills in early, and by evening the room hums with groups leaning over small tables, glasses in hand. It reads social first, refined second.
The drinks program follows the same philosophy. Cocktails draw heavily from Spanish and Latin traditions, favouring freshness and low-ABV balance over intensity. Vermouth is a cornerstone, offered in multiple styles and often served simply with soda or citrus. Sherry appears across the menu in spritzes and cobbler-style drinks that feel crisp and refreshing rather than boozy. The Vermut & Soda is a common opening order, while sherry-forward cocktails and aperitif builds reward repeat rounds. Spanish-style gin and tonics are another house signature, built tall with botanicals and citrus, designed to be easy and repeatable.
Food keeps pace with the drinks. The menu leans into tapas and share plates rather than full meals. Conservas, anchovies, olives and cured meats dominate, joined by small hot plates that arrive quickly and disappear just as fast. Everything is designed to support conversation and movement rather than anchor the table.
Tocador works because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a place to start the night, to order one more drink than planned, and to keep things moving without feeling rushed.
